Glass facade for stairwell / elevator shaft

This apartment complex was designed by Maarten Evelein in the eighties and was such an innovative living concept that the project was an entry for the Prix de Rome. In 2020 it is due for major maintenance. Wim Lindenbergh of Studio Y is responsible for the design of the elevator shafts / stairwells, which was realized in close consultation with Evelein. The connection between elevator shaft and staircase with the living environment is subtly emphasized by, among other things, the light gray horizontal frame elements in the glass section adjacent to the gallery: floor height, connection and human dimension are included in this.
